Add Cleaner
Adding a cleaner in CleanGuru creates their employee record, sets their pay rate and status, and gives them a login for the CleanGuru mobile app.

On the Employees screen, click the green New Employee button at the top left. The Add Employee window opens.
Fill in the new cleaner’s details
Only the First and Last name are required.

Set the type and user access
With the new employee’s profile open, find the Status and Type dropdowns at the bottom of the profile.

A Location-Based cleaner starts their shift at the first building or residence, an Office-Based cleaner reports to your office to start the shift, and Staff/Support covers people with responsibilities beyond cleaning.

FAQ
What details does CleanGuru need to add a new cleaner?
A First and Last name are required to create the record. On the employee’s profile you also set a Type and set User to Yes or No. If User is Yes, you need either a Mobile number or an Email address, because that is where the password setup link goes. The hourly Wage, Address and Hire Date are optional. Click Add to create the record.
What is the difference between Office-Based, Location-Based and Staff/Support employees?
An Office-Based cleaner reports to the cleaning business office to start their shift. A Location-Based cleaner starts their shift at the first building or residence. Staff/Support personnel have responsibilities beyond actual cleaning.
How does a new cleaner get access to the CleanGuru mobile app?
Set the User dropdown on the employee profile to Yes and click Save. A Setup User window opens where you enter a username and click Create, which sends the employee a password setup link and a welcome page with the app download links.
Why can a new cleaner not see their schedule in the app?
Either the cleaner has not been assigned to a ticket, or they do not have app access. Check that the User dropdown on their profile is set to Yes, and that they are assigned to a scheduled ticket.
What can I control about what a cleaner sees in the app?
The Access tab holds the permissions: Schedules with View Own, Contact Info with View, and the Check In methods Tickets, General and Travel. Click Save on the Access tab to apply them.
Can a cleaner check in without using a password?
Only through Alternative Check In, which uses a phone instead of the app. That method has to be set up first: the cleaner calls in from an approved phone at the building, CleanGuru recognizes the caller ID, and the cleaner then enters their PIN. The Access tab holds the PIN (Alt.) field with a Generate link that sets that PIN. Checking in through the CleanGuru app always requires a password.
